Sharon Perry Bio I have always loved working in and alongside small businesses. Growing up in an entrepreneurial family, where my parents owned building supply stores, I was involved in all levels of business operations. The day-to-day tasks of stocking shelves, driving fork-lifts, mixing paint, answering phones, cutting keys, accounts receivable to preparing deposits and delivering to the bank, gave me a glimpse into the complexity and pride that comes with building a business. Although at that time, I never imagined that accounting would be my chosen profession. Now years later, accounting has become my passion and I can’t imagine anything more satisfying than lessening the tax burden of the families and small businesses I work alongside. Having always lived in BC, I feel tremendously grateful to have opened my practice here. Almost 98% of all businesses in British Columbia fall under the designation of “small business” which has provided me with a great opportunity to immerse myself into this specialization. As cash flow is a common concern for individuals, families and small business owners, my fees are reasonable and fair. In addition to offering accounting and tax services for both personal and corporate clients, I strongly believe in empowering my clients through education. I provide the necessary tools, workshops and customized programs to suit the individual needs of each client. The standards, rules, and regulations are constantly changing in this industry. I pride myself with advancing my industry knowledge and maintaining the obligations of my professional standards by attending various courses throughout the year. In addition to my Chartered Accountant designation, I have achieved related diplomas from Douglas College, CDI, BCIT, Institute of Chartered Accountants of BC (ICABC), the Chartered Accountant School of Business (CASB), and a diploma in Computer Networking. Career experience prior to branching out into my own practice included working for Blue Fish Group, Chartered Accountant, Grant Thornton LLP, and EPR Coquitlam. On the side of non-profit organizations, I’ve served as Treasurer for many local organizations. Balancing family and work can be a challenge but one I gladly embrace. My husband, Jason, and I have been together since 2000. He has been with me since I started on this journey of becoming a CA and now into my own practice. We have three amazing (most of the time) children – Amelia is 11, Marcus is 9 and Kendra is 7. They are very active with both the arts and sports including skiing, basketball, track & field, baseball, piano, art, singing…just to name a few. And adding to our already crazy schedule, we have a puppy named Chewbacca or Chewy for short. He is a Morkie, part Maltese part Yorkshire Terrier. I wouldn’t say I actively chose to become an entrepreneur but rather, it chose me. Entrepreneurship is in my blood and the perfect fit! I am Sharon Perry, Chartered Professional Accountant, Mother of 3, wife, business woman and community volunteer…and your go-to for all things Accounting and Tax!
